The Cymbopogon winterianus is part of the Poaceae family and is native to Sri Lanka, Java, and Vietnam. Citronella is a perennial plant that has long and narrow aromatic leaves with cane-like stems.

Everyone knows that Citronella (Java) Essential Oil has been used for years to repel insects, and it has been shown to reduce negative emotions and calm moods. Citronella (Java) earned its name from the French word meaning "lemon balm". For ages, Citronella (Java) Oil has been utlized in China, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia as a natural home remedy and food ingredient.

How To Use

Always dilute an essential oil when using it on the skin. This essential oil is unlikely to cause skin irritation when diluted properly. If the oil has been oxidized (left with the cap off for long periods of time) it is more likely to cause skin irritation.

My June Box

The June Box was my 2nd box and I didn't do any of my recipes from my May box because I wanted to stock up on other materials before doing so. So, after getting some of my other supplies, I made the recipes from both boxes at the same time. I love these essential oils so much. I was able to even mix up a few extra recipes I got from an essential oil book I had previously. I made the Beard Oil for my husband and he loves it. So I have to be sure to keep stock in those oils. The diffuser bracelet recipe that was in June's Box was a hit with my niece. She is going to be a freshman and she loves the smelly good stuff so ended up getting more string and making extra bracelets. I have not made the necklace yet, as I'm not sure what to make as a pendant yet. Instead, I made a different style of infused bracelet with citronella oil to keep mosquitoes away while I sit on my deck in the evenings. A video of that will be attached. So, I was able to mix all but 2 of the recipes from Mays Box. I haven't gotten around to making the tumeric infusion and the moisturizing hair mask yet. But all but the necklace in June's Box was made. Thank you so much for my monthly recipe boxes.

My June Box
