How does Simply Earth qualify for ESA programs?

The Recipe Box: Homeschool Edition has a structured lesson plan, a scope and sequence, lab journals for every age track and a check-in for each lab. That meets the criteria for instructional materials in most state ESAs. Each monthly box also includes the lab supplies, which states approve under the science lab kit category.

What’s the difference between an ESA and a tax credit scholarship?

ESAs are direct-funded accounts families control. Tax credit scholarships are typically administered by a third-party non-profit (like Step Up For Students in Florida). Simply Earth works with both, and the submission format is similar.

What if my state’s program isn’t on this list?

Drop your email on your state’s pending page (or contact us directly) and we’ll either apply or tell you why we haven’t yet. Some states’ programs don’t yet cover hands-on curricula; we’re working with several state administrators to change that.

How long does ESA reimbursement take?

It varies by state and depends on your state’s portal. We list the current timing on each state’s page, so check yours for the latest.

Can I split my ESA between Simply Earth and other curricula?

Yes, that’s the norm. Most families use Simply Earth as their science line item and other vendors for math, language arts and the rest. ESA portals treat each vendor separately.

What if I’m denied?

Email us a copy of the denial at [email protected]. We’ll re-issue the invoice with whatever clarification your state’s reviewer needs.
