Texas launched Education Freedom Accounts for the 2025–26 school year. Homeschool students can receive up to $2,000 per year for books and learning supplies, and the Science of Formulating Curriculum is approved as instructional materials.

Applications are handled at educationfreedom.texas.gov. The program is new (2025-26 launch) — early applicants typically hear back in 4–8 weeks.

Texas ESA questions

Yes — Texas's ESA (launched 2025-26) is a direct-funded education savings account, separate from the older tax credit scholarship programs. Both can fund Simply Earth, but the ESA reimbursement process is more streamlined.

Curriculum with lesson plans, scope & sequence, and assessments — plus supplies that are part of the curriculum (like the lab supplies in our Lesson Boxes).

Not at this time. Only the Recipe Box: Homeschool Edition is approved in Texas. Maker Kits and the First Lesson Box have not been submitted for approval.

Yes. Each vendor is treated separately. Most Texas families use Simply Earth as their science line item alongside other curricula for math, language arts, and history.
