DIY Mix and Match Eyeshadow

Just like any other girl, I like looking at makeup. I love the colors, the texture and the art that comes with it. I’m truly amazed! On lean days, I like watching makeup tutorials and see if I can recreate them at home. However, makeup application isn’t really a strength of mine. Good thing is though, I can make my own makeup and share them with my best girl friends.

When I check out the makeup amazing artists use, my jaw literally drops and amazed how 12 colors of eyeshadow can cost up to $100. That’s crazy! Now you’re in for a treat, you can have 12 and even more colors for less than that. I’m going to show you how with this DIY all natural eyeshadow recipe!

DIY Mix and Match Eyeshadow

Recipe by Katie Veldkamp

Ingredients

  • ¼-½ tsp Arrowroot Powder

  • ¼-½ tsp Coconut Oil (solid)

  • A combination of the following:
    Cocoa powder
    Nutmeg
    Turmeric
    Allspice
    Beet root powder
    Cranberry powder

Directions

  • Start by placing 1/4 – 1/2 tsp. in a small bowl. The more arrowroot powder you use the lighter and more subtle the color of your eyeshadow will be. You can always add more, so start with less.
  • Add spices/powders and mix thoroughly to get the color you desire.
  • Once you have the color you want add coconut oil and stir to create a cream.
  • To use, apply a small amount to your eyelids using your finger or makeup brush. Store in small sealable container.  For a more specific eyeshadow recipe, check out our “Natural Eyeshadow” on the next card.
