When Summer comes, I love to spend as much time as I can with my kids outdoors. While the outdoors is full of adventures by itself, it can be fun to spice things up with simple activities.
The past couple of months my toddler has learned the joy that bubbles bring. I love watching her reaction, her eyes huge and full of wonder while the bubble is being blown, smiles as it floats through the air, and giggles when it pops. Today I’m sharing with you Gloria’s favorite Scented Bubble Recipe. We use Lavender essential oil to add a calming element to the fun, but any other kid-safe oil is great for this recipe!
In a big bowl, add 1/2 cup of dish soap to your warm water.
Next, add 1/4 cup of light corn syrup.
Then add 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil.
Give it a good mix.
Then you can pour the bubble mixture into a container; reuse an old bubble wand to make calming bubbles or check out one of these DIY Bubble Wand options!
I love this recipe because my toddler loves it so much. I feel good about its ingredients and love that it’s fun, but also calming. It’s a fun way to get outside before naptime without her getting wound up.
Never ingest an essential oil even if it is generally regarded as safe unless under the supervision of a doctor certified in aromatherapy.
Please note: This post is a compilation of suggestions made by those that have extensively used essential oils and has not been verified scientifically with clinical tests nor reviewed by medical experts. It is anecdotal information and should be treated as such. For serious medical concerns, please consult your doctor.
Take a video of your kiddo reacting to these bubbles and tag us with @fromsimplyearth, we’d love to see their eyes light up!
