Dishwasher Tablet Recipe with Essential Oils

Truth be told, washing the dishes is the chore I like the least. I don’t like the feeling of touching hardened grease on plates and pans. One of the things I’m really thankful for is having a dishwasher at home where I can use this super easy-to-make dishwasher tablet recipe. I can just leave it to do its thing while I tidy the home up.

If you’ve been following me, you would know that I’m all about going organic. I recently found out that there are essential oils for washing dishes. Everything you need is already in your pantry.

My plates, pots, and pans always come out squeaky clean after using this all-natural dishwasher cleaner. Making these homemade dishwasher tabs with essential oils is more fun because I can give them as presents to neighbors and my mom! Try it out for yourself. You won’t find yourself cruising the detergent aisle in the grocery anymore.

Borax

Borax is used in a majority of cleaning recipes. It’s cleaning properties are exceptional!

Washing Soda

Washing Soda is used to get difficult stains off of dishes.

Baking Soda

Baking Soda is something that people put in their dishwasher anyways. Adding this to the recipe is a great idea to get the best clean.

Sea Salt (Fine Grain)

Sea Salt (fine grain) is used in this recipe to add some rougher particles to clean the dishes.

Clean & Fresh Essential Oil Blend

Clean and Fresh Essential Oil Blend is a combination of Fir Needle, Neroli, Grapefruit, and Lemon Essential Oils. It’s cleaning properties are astounding, so you can be sure that your dishes are getting cleaned.

Grapefruit Essential Oil

Grapefruit Essential Oil has a citrus aroma that is sure to smell fresh. It has cleaning properties that help with this recipe!

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is a staple in cleaning recipes. Mixing it with these other ingredients is sure to have your dishes looking spotless!

This recipe is safe to use around pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Dishwasher Tablet Recipe with Essential Oils

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Borax

  • ½ cup Washing Soda

  • 1 Tbsp. Baking Soda

  • ½ cup Sea Salt (fine grain)

  • 75 drops Clean and Fresh Essential Oil Blend

  • 25 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil

  • 2 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar

Directions

  • First, mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Make sure there are no clumps.
  • Next, add the apple cider vinegar. It will fizz for a bit–watch out for that!
  • Then, add 75 drops of Clean & Fresh Essential Oil Blend.
  • Last, add 25 drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil.
  • Mix everything together
  • Pack them into molds and leave them overnight. You can use your ice cube trays!
  • Store your tablets in an airtight container to avoid moisture.

Notes

  • If the tablets do not fit in the compartment of your dishwasher, you can just toss them into the bottom of the dishwasher. Depending on your water, you may need to use 2 tabs. I use two for heavy loads.
