Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) essential oil has a beautifully complex aroma. It is sweet and citrus-like with fruity, spicy and even floral undertones.

This means that it blends well with a host of other essential oils including floral oils, citrus oils, spice oils and even oils like Sandalwood and Juniper.

Bergamot essential oil is wonderful for skin and can be used for acne, oily skin, spots, and other skin ailments. It has also been used for sore muscles, clods, anxiety, stress, and digestive issues.

Bergamot is native to tropical Asia, but is now cultivated in southern Italy and the Ivory coast. The essential oil is cold pressed from its fruit peels.

Because it is phototoxic, one should avoid direct sunlight after using on skin. Otherwise Bergamot essential oil is generally regarded as non-toxic and safe.
